Прочел в ЖЖ [livejournal.com profile] lenno_cornish что оказывается тот украинец правильный, кто именует себя Ukie и может произнести слово паляниця.
Как и многие в треде умираю от смеха!

Guys, you know true Ukrainian is only who calls himself «Ukie» and pronounces "паляниця" properly! :)))

[livejournal.com profile] colonelrabin says test about "паляныця" not new, he remembers it was in USSR-time (of course unofficially).
[livejournal.com profile] alex_kraine speaks about "Ukie", this word belongs to only one family in Boston so he doesn't want to be ukie and live in ukie-land :) And there we have a joke: "ukie" - "yukai" (happy in japanese) He is not "ukie" but still happy!
[livejournal.com profile] dmiggy joking about fofudya ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fofudya - but be aware this article is in english, but ukrainian origin. In our country it adjusts to mostly super-orthodox patriots who call upon the past and of course is only a joke. )

P.S. You can use on-line translation tools like http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to read these posts, I know they generally work badly, but by English is far from perfect too.

Thanks anyway. Human made translation will be always more subtle, though I use sometimes machine help to understand something, especially German;)

not at all :)
