Guys, you know true Ukrainian is only who calls himself «Ukie» and pronounces "паляниця" properly! :)))

Firstly I prefer to read interesting journals through friend’s page and your journal is quite interesting for me :)
About the post, it contains links to this tread ( http://lenno-cornish.livejournal.com/23762.html ), to your livejournal and text about «Ukie» and «паляниця» in Russian language.

Ok then. I am glad to be interesting. What do you think about my recent posting of Native Americans photos?

You know, I am fond of Japanese culture, and they have two different words for western-style clothes and for traditional ones.
May be in everyday activities western is better. But at home, or at holidaytime you should wear your ancestor’s clothes, and of course in important ceremonies like wedding to.

P.S. left photo is undoubtedly better.

[livejournal.com profile] colonelrabin says test about "паляныця" not new, he remembers it was in USSR-time (of course unofficially).
[livejournal.com profile] alex_kraine speaks about "Ukie", this word belongs to only one family in Boston so he doesn't want to be ukie and live in ukie-land :) And there we have a joke: "ukie" - "yukai" (happy in japanese) He is not "ukie" but still happy!
[livejournal.com profile] dmiggy joking about fofudya ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fofudya - but be aware this article is in english, but ukrainian origin. In our country it adjusts to mostly super-orthodox patriots who call upon the past and of course is only a joke. )

P.S. You can use on-line translation tools like http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to read these posts, I know they generally work badly, but by English is far from perfect too.

Thanks anyway. Human made translation will be always more subtle, though I use sometimes machine help to understand something, especially German;)
